2017 Events Schedule
As part of the The Wheel's European Programme, we meet with community groups and local authority staff from all over the country , telling the Europe for Citizens story and encouraging applications.
Hear about the programme at the following events:
Spotlight on Town Twinning, Killarney: This short information session delivered by Deirdre Finlay from The Wheel is aimed at staff from local authorities, town twinning associations and community groups interested in starting or funding a town twinning project. Meet the Wheel in Mayo, Westport: This short information session delivered by Johnny Sheehan and Deirdre Finlay from The Wheel and also hosted by Caroline Wilson, The Wheel's Regional Champion for Mayo/Sligo area. It is aimed at staff from community groups interested in joining The Wheel and also accessing EU funding. A presentation on Europe for Citizens will be incorporated. EU Funding for Cultural Organisations: This half-day information session will provide Irish organisations with an overview of Creative Europe, Europe for Citizens and Erasmus+, the EU’s culture, citizenship and youth programmes. Galway, 7 June 2017 @11am-2pm. Book here.
Partnership Development for EU Funded Projects: Are you looking for partners or starting a project that requires managing multiple groups all around Europe? This workshop will take place on Tuesday 20 June from 9.30pm-1pm at The Wheel's office in Dublin and is free. Book here.

Deirdre Finlay is the European Programmes Coordinator at The Wheel. With over 12 years' experience of programme management, institutional funding (Irish Aid, EU) and communications, Deirdre has specific insights to share on grants available under the Europe for Citizens Programme. An experienced facilitator, she also provides training and technical advice on the preparation of proposals.
Emma Murtagh is the European Programme Officer at The Wheel. A skilled EU project manager, she is very knowledgeable on partnership management, budgeting and writing proposals, especially for Erasmus+.
Hugh O'Reilly is Director of Business Development for The Wheel, responsible for directing, leading and supporting work areas on behalf of The Wheel and its members. Hugh has over ten years experience in in management and business development roles in construction, education, the arts and voluntary organisations.
